Women in Coaching

Based on the premise that many women are already ‘coaching’ in their everyday lives, we would like to encourage them to use their skills in sport and physical activity. Whether a parent, grandparent, nurse, office manager, teacher or even student mentor women help others to learn new skills, develop and grow as people. These are all skills that coaches, activators and leaders need to make sport a worthwhile and meaningful experience for their participants.

Following on from the trail blazing South East initiative Project 500, sports coach UK is encouraging women of all ages and backgrounds nationally to make a health and fitness resolution with a difference this year - to Reach into coaching. Find out more

Project 500 is a local campaign to address the imbalance in the number of male to female coaches, creating a more diverse workforce to drive the growth of female participation in sport.

In Berkshire we have created a Project 500 offer to support local females to get in making a difference in their communities! Find out more

Berkshire This Girl Can Ambassadors or Coaches have not been chosen because they are all elite athletes or that they excel at sport. They are ordinary yet inspirational women that, like us, have a passion for fun and being social, but struggle to keep fit and healthy within their busy lifestyles. This campaign is to support women to take action and empower those who are considering their first steps into exercise or taking the lead to inspire those around them.
