Young People

Get Berkshire Active is delighted to announce a further year of funding for the Satellite Clubs programme. The programme has been extended into a fourth year by Sport England, who are aiming to encourage community sports clubs to run outposts of their clubs in new settings such as local schools, colleges, or other community venues, for all members of the community, aged 11-25. Satellite clubs provide a stepping stone to a community club for further participation.

GBA provides the link between National Governing Bodies (NGBs) of sports, schools and clubs, as well as funding to set satellite clubs up. So far in Berkshire, GBA have:

  • Funded 70 satellite clubs,
  • Engaged over 2000 new people,
  • Into 21 sports

GBA currently doesn't have any funding to hand out, however we may do if current projects don't deliver; please have a conversation with us if you're interested in running a satellite club - please see below, or contact Neel Sood at GBA neel.sood@getberkshireactive.org for further information.
